Skewback on crown of chauffer 1#~5# on the south and north sides of the arch angle in the melting pool of the float glass furnace was seriously eroded; skewback bricks had been melted completely and the outside of the skewback had turned red; downward of the skewback steel was exposed to the flame, posing a serious threat to the overall safety of the crown.
